Corny update.

I am eating a scone with jam, drinking some milk, Wren is asleep, and Kenton is painting the spare room (aka. old computer room) white. I am sitting on Etsy looking at cute children's wall art- not art kids made..but art for Wren and the new baby's room. For some reason I keep having these bursts of inspiration for the new baby room, all pertaining to if the baby is a boy. A sign perhaps?

A volunteer I worked with in the past came by the main office today and we had a nice chat. When I was pregnant with Wren, he told me I would have a girl. Today, he said this one will be a boy. He's a quirky old guy, and he won't be the first to guess at what the baby's gender will be I'm sure!

I will wait to show you my ideas for the baby's room when we know what we are having and I really know what direction I want to take the room. Wren's room will stay the same, red and turquoise with all the things she had in it before for the most part. She is moving into the spare room and the baby will stay with the crib in her old one. The new one is slightly bigger, which will accommodate her big girl bed better. I definitely don't have the stamina or budget to decorate two rooms!
That brings me to the bathroom, which is still on it's way to being finished and I don't want to show you yet. It's all those little things left that are just impossible to make time for once you have a working toilet. What else matters I ask?

We are hoping sickness has left our house for at least one month...I'm just being optimistic here. Last weekend I came down with the stomach flu and together we all watched about 6 hours of Anne of Green Gables, and all of the Sequels and Continuing Stories.. as Kenton's boss put it, "That's a lot of Megan Follows." You know it.

I planned on updating you on more, but it is coming close to 8:30pm and I am plum tuckered out and ready to hit the hay.

I leave you with the most focused little corn-eating face...

  1. I love the title of this post - and that intense corn-eating Wren face :) Can't wait to see the pics of the baby's room and the bathroom, whenever!
