It has been one of those...weekends. Actually, it hasn't been that bad, but Wrennie is sick again, only with the flu this time. 3 days in a row she has ralfed up her lunch. I mean, it hit areas of the kitchen that shocked me. Poor little thing, being sick is the worst. But it also sucks for the parents.
This is how tonight went for her:
1) Eat a small, plain dinner.
2) Barf up small, plain dinner.
3) Go into the bath immediately.
4) While in bath, play with the running water. Dad accidentally turns off the cold before the hot and hurts her hand and feels so bad.
5) Put her to bed at 7, only to have her repeatedly wake up and now it's 8:30pm and she is sitting in the rocker with Dad eating a cracker.
6) We are hoping she will sleep okay tonight.
Why am I saying all of this? Because sometimes life isn't as easy, fun and happy-go-lucky as it seems on a blog. Sometimes you have really boring days staying inside with your sicky baby helping her get better and she refuses to let you put her down and is needy all day for you...for 3 days straight. Sigh.
However, Kenton and I did manage to still go on our double date with Cam & Jill on Saturday night. We stuffed ourselves with Famoso...literally. 4 people. 4 whole pizzas...maybe one banana and nutella dessert pizza on top of that. It. Was. Epic.
Then, 2 sets of parents went to go see a movie about people becoming parents. Life As We Know It.
It was really good. Jill and I cried...a lot! I definitely didn't expect it to be that sad.
As Wrennie's hand got briefly caught under the hot water and she cried, I instantly thought of the part in the movie where the friends caring for the orphaned baby in the movie always had a visit paid by the social worker in their worst moments. You should see it, it is also pretty funny!
I also want to know where all of Josh Duhamel's clothing from the movie was from, because it was awesome and Kenton would look great in all of it...Even though the actor is about as big as a professional basketball player and his shirts probably cost a small fortune.
The movie may have also made a joke about how the main female character (Katherine Heigl) is lame and probably just "reads and blogs". Hey now.
So anyway. Today I visited both Costco and Superstore, and as a result needed to come home and take an Advil. And then we rented The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which we have now given up watching because Wrennie just keeps crying in her room every 20 minutes because of some unknown reason to us. Burp? Hunger? Feeling like crap with the flu? All of the above?
I think we will turn in early...it's already 8:36! ;)
Wrennie eating an apple in healthier days...
