Dad and Wren. Quite the pair.
And when I am gone, they have a really good time together- especially when it comes to cookie baking!
I am not saying that this is like a "okay mom is gone so let's do things we can't with her around" kind of a thing. To be honest, I never thought of giving her the chance to lick the spoon...or mixer thingy.
But Kenton did, and Wren was loving it! I am glad he took pictures to show me...
And if there are things they do when I am not around, I don't know about them..yet.
Joy!
A perfect "caught in the act" photo. Wren has brought back her 'turtle' face. Remember it from when she was about ...
...6 months old?
I'm sorry to regress, but when I went looking for this picture to compare with the one above, I couldn't get over how much she has changed in so little time. Like, where is all her hair??
*Here is a story I forgot to share, probably because there was no photo to go with it sadly.
A couple of weeks ago, Andrea was over, and we were giving Wrennie a bath. Wren hates..HATES getting dressed after getting out of the tub, so she runs to the corner of her room and plays behind her window curtain that reaches the floor. So she did that, without a diaper on. And I said to Andrea, "Well we should bring her over here (to the change pad) and get a diaper on her before she pees".
Moments after I said that, Wren is standing behind the curtain, and we see streams of wet marks going down the bottom of the curtain. Wren had peed out (not down her leg or anything, but outwards)...and onto the bottom of the curtain.
It was the funniest thing, and yes, the curtain went into the wash. I hope that gave you a little chuckle :)
The other new development in Wren's world is shoes. She really likes wearing shoes. Even at 8am in her fleece pyjamas she needs to wear the crocs. She brings them over to you, and grunts and puts them in your hands until you put them on her feet.
Setting new fashion trends.
Where is The Sartorialist when you need him?
Not only does she like wearing shoes, but her animal friends need to as well. Sometimes she even needs them to wear a diaper, shirt, and possibly pants.
Wren's bottom eye-teeth have come in. So has one on top. The fourth one will be coming in soon, I can see a "hole" where it is ready to come down.
Teething turns otherwise happy, sweet, tender, cuddly children into bears. Or at least our child. On her worst days she whines, cries, and throws small fits at the smallest things, and loses all patience or will to live. I know it sounds like an exaggeration, but even my own mom told me after a day of watching Wrennie while I was at work, that she was a little "banshee". But Grandparents seem to have a much higher threshold for these grumpy teething grandchildren, than parents that have to put up with it days on end (and sometimes nights).
Thank goodness for relief.
Is it because they know that the grumpy teething stage is nothing compared to the grumpy teenage stage? hehe...
Have a happy Wednesday from Wrennie!
wow that is so cute!!!! the realationship between wren and her dad is so sweet!
