Today is my Birthday, and I turned 25. For once, that sounds "old", at least to me.
Kenton took the day off, and had some surprises for me.
The first one was to make a special breakfast. Unfortunately, it didn't really turn out...but to be fair, any Jamie Oliver bread-related recipe that I have made has rarely turned out. I am serious, there was the infuriating pie crust recipe of 2008 that nearly had dry, crumbly pie crust being thrown around the apartment walls.
Instead of fruit scones, we had our favourite stand-by of cereal, and then headed out for what Kenton planned.
He took me to the Alberta Craft Council downtown to pick out some handmade pieces of art or pottery. Sadly, nothing really stood out to me, so instead of settling for something, I decided to wait.
Then we stopped at the Duchess Bake Shop on 124th for some lunch and treats. That place really needs more tables and chairs!
We came home to eat our treats, and had a tough time getting Wren to come inside.
Marchin' around like a little lady.
"Here comes trouble". That was for you, Andrea.
Her new favourite thing is to drink out of a waterbottle.
Wren didn't want to pose for this picture. She thought I was going to scoop her up and take her inside. Another new favourite thing: being outside at all times and hating the indoors. That's not a bad thing!
Being silly. And yeah, I might have being wearing this striped number in the last blog post, but I do change my clothes from time to time. Don't judge.
And finally, some cake. My mom brought this over, and I had to put up this picture for her. I hate corner pieces...of anything, and when I went to cut the first slice of birthday cake for myself, it had to be in the middle.
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes :)
Happy Birthday, AJ! All of the pics of Wren just kill me...she gets cuter by the day.
ReplyDeleteHey Amy,
ReplyDeleteI just thought I'd introduce my "blog" self. My name is Becky, I met you at Jill's about a year ago. I hope you don't mind me following your blog!
Anyway, happy birthday! I think I felt the same way as you when I turned 25; it was like it was the first birthday that felt 'old' and 'adult'. I like it! :)
Also, good news! Duchess is expanding (bought the space where the Tu Gallery is now), so hurray for more seating space!
Hi Becky,
