Wind, cooler air, sun...it's definitely fall out there and I'm so excited. I've been slowly pulling out sweaters, pants and boots that I had tucked away...not too many shirts though- they were all maternity wear since I was pregnant with Ellie over the whole last winter. I look forward to packing away my shorts!
Ellie's been working on her tummy time. She kind of yells at me to pick her up after a minute or two but hey. Someone..cough*my sister*cough...mentioned that Ellie has a head shape similar to the lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins. I thought that was super funny...and kind of true!
So, even though two kidlets are a lot of work, I have to say that having a toddler to occupy the baby is actually really helpful. When Ellie gets fussy or bored, Wren thinks it's her job is happy to come over and help entertain Ellie. And sometimes I can even leave them both in the crib to play while I fold laundry or pick up the house a bit.
Um..is this not the most darling picture of them yet...?!
The other day was pretty hot out so Ellie chose a cute summer dress. I had to post a picture of her wearing it because she was given 4 of these as gifts when she was born!! I mean, it really suits her of course, and I would have exchanged them for bigger sizes next summer but they don't come that big...
Ellie has started to giggle, and I actually don't know if she has rolled over completely on her own yet but she's pretty close. We left her with a sitter (my sister) for the first time last week while we went to the wedding (see previous post) and she did so well that we asked Andrea to come back again when we go to another one next week!
I may have written out a "tips" list for Andrea a mile long. Ha.
We're working up to being able to go out on an actual date sans kids. We have gone on a ton of dates with Ellie there, wolfing down brunches, dinners and the occasional lunch but that's getting a little old now. I kind of want to taste the food...
...Not to mention my list of places to go try is getting longer and longer. We have a groupon to Bothy Wine & Whisky Bar, and I really want to have dinner and drinks at Mercer Tavern. This Edmonton blog also gives a few new suggestions for some other great places to eat in the city.
P.S. A review of the Ergo carrier I've been wearing religiously this summer coming soon..
Holy smokes that pic of Wren kissing Ellie is super cute!
