Faces

Remember these sweet little head shots from waaay back? Amanda came over and did some for Ellie and new ones for Wren. As usual, I received my "teaser" and had to share!

Oh I can't even wait for the finished product...they're going to be gorgeous.

Happy Birthday to Kenton!

Happy Birthday Kenton!
30 years old this year! What! You can feel free to bombard him with texts, calls and emails now ;)

"E" is for Ellie!

I thought we still had a bit of a wait until this onesie fit Ellie. After all, it is an 18-24 month size. But, apparently it's just perfect.

(Onesie was a gift, but you can find them at American Apparel . There are also toddler t-shirts with the letters as well. Why is there never a "W" in the store??)

The Sweetie Girls

After nap cuddles. (No, they don't nap in the same bed, but we joined Wren in her cuddly warm covers.)

Happy 3rd Birthday to Wren!

Today is the 25th, Wren's birthday! She is already 3...!! We had a party for her at our community hall (The thought of 20 adults and 8 kids in my house was too scary) and she had a blast!

She is big into happy faces...

I put my sister in charge of decor and she didn't disappoint, brown paper on the tables for some colouring action. It was a hit with the bigger kids too...haha

Serious party face.

Wren and her pal Isla. They didn't want a photo, and were getting worn out :)

Baby Tessa. Cutest little button.

Hugs with Aunty Daisha.

Birthday cake time.

Ellie did a great job of allowing everyone to pass her around. She fell asleep the second her car seat went into the car for the extremely short drive home.

Seriously great banner.

Thanks to our family and friends for coming out and partying with us!

I missed one!

I missed a photo of Wren and had to share it. I think it's my new favourite.

We want to make a snowman...

Wren has been asking to make a snowman since the snow fell but it hasn't been sticky enough yet.
Regardless, we played. Ellie thought sitting in a snowbank was the best.

Besties in the Morning

Ellie turned 7 months old yesterday, and therefore has graduated from the Bumbo chair to the highchair at the table.

Wren thought this might mean she could try and feed Ellie breakfast. She didn't get far.

I write this as the girls fall asleep for naps, and I sit at the computer eating cookie dough. Yes, raw, delicious cookie dough in a small-ish bowl. Any morning that involves going to our crazy, loud, sometimes annoying playgroup in the neighbourhood means that I should sit and do nothing for the rest of the afternoon. So here I am, taking a breather.

The girls watch a morning episode of Sesame Street together. Cuties.

Teeth.

Hi.

My name is Ellie.

I have two teeth.

My name is Ellie and I have two teeth!!

4 Years

Sooo yesterday I posted about Ellie hanging out in the Jolly Jumper and kind of forgot it was our 4th wedding anniversary...
I mean, I knew it was our anniversary, I just forgot to post about it. Riighhht...

Anyway, 4 year!  So much has happened in 4 years (jobs, a house, 2 kids, woodworking, blogging, eatings, sleeping, etc)
and it's been...amazing. The crazy parts and the mundane. I really wouldn't trade any of it.

I just love Kenton. He is my best friend and my favourite person. Happy Anniversary!

xo.

Ellie loves her Jolly Jumper

They jump...

I tell Wren not to twirl her around...

They dance...

They sing...

Ellie gets tuckered out...

Snowiest day in Edmonton!

Oh...my..gosh...

If you had to go outside today (probably for work like most of the population), then you already know what it's like out there.
And it's CRAZY.

Anyone that read my post (Everyday Outside) about trying to get outside with the girls almost every day no matter what, probably thought of me today and laughed. But guess what? We did!

The snow is SO DEEP, Wren could barely plough through it. I had Ellie in the Ergo in her snowsuit. She was quite the bundle.

She loved almost every minute of being in the snow. It was so quiet and beautiful and she said "Mommy, I like snow!!"

Be safe on the roads today, I'm hoping it doesn't take Kenton forever to get home from work..

Christmas Decorating Begins

The Halloween decorations came down recently...

See Wren with her cluster of ghosts that she had a hard time saying good-bye to..

She read to Ellie when Ellie was sick and could only sit and watch..

Sick Ellie..

Healthy Ellie!
She has cut her two bottom teeth and it looks as though her two top ones are charging through.

We baked gingerbread upon Wren's request. (And froze most to save it for Christmas....little does she know.)

I had to show this specific gingerbread that Wren decorated.

The best part of all of this is Kenton's amazing idea for a "fireplace" this year. We've already been reading some Christmas books with the girlies and he realized that a lot of them talked about chimneys and fireplaces for Santa to come in.
He wanted Wren to have one too, so he pulled out the huge brown paper roll we had in the basement and drew out a fireplace (complete with detailed wooden mantel, haha) and we all painted it together. As soon as I get the girls their own stockings (and perhaps Kenton and new one, we have his stocking from when he was a kid! That's almost 30 years old!)
We still have some tree decor to make (I'm thinking yarn balls as ornaments) but there are already some chinese lanterns up and the bottom of the tree is full of old decorations from years past.

More to come on this, I'm sure ;)

The quirks of living with Wren.

After my last sad post about Ellie being sick, I felt it would be nice to make you all smile now.
I am trying to document the funny/weird/silly things Wren does with stuff around the house. Here are just a couple of pictures so far...

This is Ellie's exersaucer. Obviously, Ellie is not in it. But Wren's slinky is. She thinks it's hilarious.

Wren's baby doll. I...don't...know...

Okay...take a close look at this photo (Wren wanted to share her tv shows with Ellie. I don't think she realizes what a crappy view Ellie has down there.)

Now, what has changed? Haha.

By the way, Ellie is doing a lot better. She's still trying to get rid of the virus, but is sleeping it off like crazy. I haven't known this baby to nap like she has the past 2 days. She is making up for a loooottt of lost sleep. Her and I woke up at 9:30am this morning. I was pumped :)
