A morning with Ellie

The other day Ellie woke up from a nap with some cute little sleep lines on her face. Wren was back at preschool that morning so we just hung out in our comfies.

And how adorable and comfy are these fleecey pj's of Ellie's? Oh man, I love them.

She found a small mixing bowl which sort of made her look like she was in the military. Oh yes, the pants are now off. She asks us to take her clothes off. She would want her diaper off too except she pees at the first chance she can on the floor and then points to it for us to clean up. Gross.

She is also talking so much more now. Last month she had an audiology appointment to assess her hearing because the doctor thought she should have more words in her vocab than she did. The audiologist found fluid behind her ears and when tested for hearing, found that Ellie wasn't responding to soft sounds. We have her follow up appointment on Wednesday and I'm hoping that fluid has drained and that all the words she is trying to say means that she is hearing things better now.

I'll update you all on that, fingers crossed!

Kenton's latest project: Kitchen table

Kenton just finished up his latest project, and a quick(er) one at that. A client asked for a kitchen table that extended off their counter, sort of like an island but could be easily moved to another part of the kitchen when they like.

They went with white oak for the piece and let Kenton come up with a functional and simple design to suit their home which is currently in full renovation mode at the moment.

Because they liked the table so much, they have now asked him to make the bar stools to go along with it. We are excited that they have more projects for him and will keep him busy for the next while!

Kenton has enjoyed working with this wonderful couple already for this piece and is looking forward to doing more work for them. I'd say this one turned out lovely and I hope that he takes a larger shot of the room to get a better sense of the table in the space, with the new bar stools of course.

Just before Kenton starts designing the stools for this table, he will finish up another project he's been doing almost simultaneously. He's been working on a coffee table to submit to a show in February. That one is just about done and I can't wait to share that piece with you as well!
