Last day of work!

Today was my last day of work for the year, and I'm feeling kind of like this...

And I'm also feeling a little bit like this...

But mostly the first.

Who needs rain?

Rain is an irrelevant factor when one wants to wear rubber boots and carry an umbrella!

This is my last week of work (hurray!), and given it's Spring Break, Aunty Andrea and Grandma came over to watch Wren and go on adventures.

A block away from us is the catholic church on the corner. Next to the playground, it's Wren's favourite spot to hang out, running up and down the steps and talking to herself with games going on in her head.

Yo.

It's supposed to keep getting nicer outside this week, more fun walks ahead!

Good Books for Wren

Here are some of our recent picks from the library for Wren:

Did anyone else read those growing up?
A tip for finding those really good, classic kids books- go to the book displays at the library. They always put the best ones there. I may have left the display in our library looking really sparse and sad!

And two funny things, just because:
1) Yesterday, Wren said, "I'm Susan Boyle!"
2) Picture below: Yes, Wren is sitting on her duckie potty. Also works well as a chair for tea time or step to reach the sink.

Spring Shoes

Rubber boots are a staple item for kids, but sometimes they're not always the best choice for a walk or just being out and about. We searched high and low for a good pair of spring shoes for Wren, and I felt it somewhat necessary to share about these ones we got.
I have to admit, both Kenton and I are so picky on what we buy her, but we want to like it and we want it to be good quality and affordable. We probably put a lot more emphasis on just needing to like it than the other reasons :)

Anyway, in the past we've been super happy with the kids shoe brand, Livie & Luca.
I found this cute little pair on www.babysteals.com for half off! The trouble with buying shoes online for your kid is that they obviously can't try them on. So I guessed Wren's size off their size chart. I probably could have bought the size up. I justify this mistake with the fact that she can pass them on eventually.

It's also a bonus when your picky child likes the shoes as well. We have seen this brand being sold at Princess and the Pea in Crestwood.

And if anyone ever sees children's Clark's Originals being sold somewhere in Edmonton, please let us know!

Chop Chop Timber!

We had a big, ugly tree in our backyard. It needed to go, so my dad came over to help Kenton take it down.

They were a little concerned about the cables that run out to the poles in the alley but hoped they could get the tree to fall away from them...

With a huge crash over the fence, the tree took down one of the cable lines, oops :)
(All has been fixed and is fine now).

Wren woke up from her nap after the tree fell and said, "Oh, noisy! Crash boom!". We looked out the window at what happened and she said, "Oh, tree broken."
Hurray!
