A Visit with Baby Jack

The girls love babies, and they absolutely LOVED baby Jack when he came over for a visit. They were so cute with him I had to post a photo or two...

Jack belongs to Nathan and Daisha, our close friends. He's the sweetest little guy that we love so much!

Party like you're 2!

When you're 2, you might not have a lot of friends yet (this is not a diss), but you can bet that your family will your best party people!

Ellie had a fun afternoon of cake, presents and playing with her faves. Here's a few pics...

Flashback to last year! When Ellie didn't like cake yet...haha.

She was so little and chubby!

The girls enjoyed their cake and the party and were worn right now.

But not as worn out as a couple of their uncles...

Happy 2nd Birthday Ellie!

Ellie is 2 years old today, and it's hard to believe she was this little button that long ago...

We used to think she was so mild mannered, so sweet and easy going (and she can be)..

But we didn't predict the crazy, wild, hilarious side of her to sprout in this last year!

She is a brave, loud, funny and happy girl that we love so much. We love her crazy streak. She catches us off guard or scares us constantly. We say "ELLIE!" a lot, like when she throws an entire plate of spaghetti and meatballs across the kitchen, asks to see her boogers when you wipe her nose, or nearly runs out into the road. 

This one definitely keeps us on our toes. All. the. time. 

And we love her for it.

Morning hair

Some days Ellie's hair looks like an explosion on top of her head.

No matter, we carry on to do fun things!

Ellie doesn't hold still very often so a picture like this is a bit rare.

Lately I have found her standing on the arm of the couch ready to jump saying "Yook it MUM!"

or on top of the scary brick barbecue thing in the backyard looking over our neighbours fence. Sigh. Wren was not like this. Ellie is an adventurous little squirt and keeps us on our toes all.the.time.

 

She will be two next month, can you believe it??

Mini Yoga

Oh my, who else is so sick of being stuck indoors from the cold??

You can only go to so many indoor playgrounds, swimming pools and museums in the winter before you are broke and just wishing you could go for a nice wintery walk pulling your kids in the sled behind you. 

But it's been too cold for even that. 

So instead of turning on a movie the other day (like I usually do in the afternoon for Wren while Ellie naps), I turned on some kids yoga for fun. 

Let me be clear- I'm not interested in kids "working out" or anything like that. I am interested in fun physical activity for kids. 

I went on youtube and found "Cosmic Kids Yoga". It's a lady with an animated background leading kids in 15 min yoga sessions in each video. You kind of just have to see it. But it's bright, colourful and easy to follow along. She sort of tells a story and leads you in actions along with it. 

Wren ate it up and even Ellie sort of gets into it for a few minutes. So cute!

(I tried talking Wren out of wearing a mini-skirt while doing these moves, but she wouldn't have it.)

Ellie thinks it's so funny to try the moves and constantly says "Yook it Mum!" 

Kind of a nice way to do something a bit different indoors when they are sick of everything else. Or at least distract them while you slap on some make up while you try to get ready quickly in the morning? :)
