No!

Two words we are hearing very often from one sassy little 18 month old:
"No!"
"Bye!"

This what bedtime looks like these days:

"Wren, do you want to read this book?"
"No!"
"This book?"
"No!"
"This book?"
"No!"
"This book?"
She sits back in the chair ready to listen to a story...but once it is done..
"How about this book?"
"No!"
"Okay well those are all of your books, there are no more. So I guess it's night-night time."
"No!! WAAAHHH!!!"
And into the crib she goes. For the sake of time, I saved you from the actual amount of times we hear "no!" at storytime before bed. It's a lot.

She is also really good at saying "hi" and "bye"...to everyone and their dog. It's cute, and it comes out pretty clear. About as clear as "no!"

The amount of parents that never had to fish poop out of a kid's bath time is probably rare. I am sure it happens to everyone.
But have you ever fished it out with your rubber strainer from the kitchen, the one with the long handle?
Let me just say that I am ecstatic to begin potty training one of these days....

And I just have to share this story. It's from my sister, Andrea. It made me laugh out loud over the phone.
As you know, my grandpa passed away recently. Andrea and my parents drove to B.C. for the funeral last weekend. During their stay in B.C., one of the hotels had a pool and hot tub. Andrea and my dad were in the hot tub one evening, as well as a very young girl and her dad. As they were sitting in the hot tub, a big, hairy man and his wife slowly stepped in. The little girl looked up at the man and exclaimed, "Wow! You have a lot of fur!!"
I can't wait until Wren blurts out the obvious truth. Or maybe I can...
