Well, I have completely dropped the ball when it comes to blogging. It's official. We work, come home, have supper, bath Wren and put her to bed, watch a show, and then go to bed.
Repeat.
I'm feeling slightly better these days, I have a better handle on my nausea (ie. Eat every half hour or so!)
The only problem are the smells at work...as in my coworkers reheated lunches which somehow always smell like curry dinner from the night before. It's the worst when they heat it up, take it to their office and the whole place stinks. And the window in my office is broken so there is no way to get fresh air. These are my big problems in life right now.
But Wrennie has been enjoying her time with grandparents, her nanny and her one day with Dad at home. It can be a lot to juggle, but I'd rather have to juggle those people than a daycare. Just a personal preference, I'm not knocking that method. I'm just saying we are lucky we can go this route right now.
Wrennie talks non-stop all day long. 20% we understand, 80% is total jibberish. But she seems to know what she's talking about.
Some of our favourite phrases from her right now:
"Cue me!" - (excuse me)
"Hep MEE!!"- (help me)
"Mo-ee!"- (movie- and it better be Shrek. This actually isn't a favourite phrase, just an annoying one she always says to request to watch a movie 243 times a day)
"Joo, pee"- (juice please)
"Oh bee-bee! Wah wah" (Referring to a baby crying. In Wren's world, all babies cry. It's their sound, just like a duck would say 'quack'.)
"Tory!" (Unrelated to politics, she just wants to read a story)
She is showing you her squirrel jammies...
We are starting the process of moving Wren's room over. I don't even want to think about the fun ahead of teaching her to sleep in a big girl bed. I'm still trying to figure out how to start potty training her...suggestions are welcome via email.
We do have one triumph to report though, we have totally eliminated the bubba- aka. Bottle. It took one night. As we read stories for bed, we offered her a sippy cup with milk instead. She was miffed about that, refused. Then 2 minutes later, realizing there was no bubba, she reluctantly sipped from the cup instead, and it was done.
To be fair, we still give her a soother, and that is our third goal to accomplish before this next baby arrives: soother elimination.
Wren has a new friend next door. Her little pal Mason welcomed his new little sister to the world last week, Avery. She is pretty pumped to have 2 friends living next door now!
I don't know about everyone else, but Wrennie is loving the leaves outside right now. I am excited for the snow...only to see Wren play in it. Last year all I could really do was plunk her in a snow bank and watch her eat the snow. I had considered buying a pair of adult snow pants, but I don't think they make maternity ones :)
Wren has already picked out her Halloween costume. We are taking her around our street to trick or treat this year with our neighbours- two little monsters toddling around asking for candy-hopefully we really bring a big bag back! Last year we only had 2 kids come to the door! Sad.
Hope you all had a nice weekend too, at least with some of it spent outside while you can!

not that you need advice from strangers but when i was pregnant, i was feeling a little panicky about getting my son moved into a big bed before our baby came. someone suggested to me that we should keep our son in his crib for awhile after the baby came. it was a like a weight lifted off my shoulders. now he's still in his crib and the baby is a month old, sleeping in the playpen. it has turned out to be great because when he's awakened at 5am by the baby, he has no option but to stay in his bed and fall back asleep as opposed to being able to get out of a big boy bed. we're loving that. of course, MOST people transfer their toddlers to big beds pre-baby and it always works out. i'm sure you guys will do fine either way. :)
