Wow, sorry, it's been a while!
A combination of working and nice weather has kept me away from my computer. Here is a photo dump of what's been going on...
Ellie discovered the car. She's great at pushing herself backwards around the patio. But she's still a little uncoordinated and will sometimes slump down and almost fall through the "floor" of the car. Practice is needed.
And just hangin' out with Aunty. Best pals. This one doesn't give Aunty sass yet. Ha.
And playing "Peek-a-Boo!"
The house next door is still being built, but it's looking good.
Quite the garage!
Wren enjoyed flinging mud around the yard while wearing her fave 'bunny' shoes.
Ellie has discovered the glory of Nutella. Clearly. (As well as chocolate in general, vanilla custards, cookies, and anything sweet).
Ellie is also exploring the house since learning to crawl. She's not walking yet but standing everywhere she can, even the tub.
Her latest 'trick' is to go "ba-ba-ba!" on her mouth. She can also mimic sneezes which is very cute to see. It involves throwing her head back and then making a "kuusshhhhh" noise.
She is also learning to fight back- Yesterday, Wren got mad at her for giving her a pinchy-squeeze on the arm, and Wren went "URRGGHHH! Ellie!" and Ellie went "GRRRRR!" right back with Hulk fists!
Belly giggles..
We brought out Wren's two-wheeler complete with training wheels. She likes to go for a solid 3 second bike ride down the street and then is over it. Figures.
Now meet Travis, Wren's preschool stuffy dinosaur friend. All the kids get a turn taking him home and writing about what they did with Travis in a journal. You can also stick a picture of yourself with Travis in the book for the other kids to see.
I asked Wren where she wanted to take Travis, and she answered "Space!"
We took him to the next best thing- the Telus World of Science.
They had a blast showing Travis around. The kids play place has made TWOS a more accessible place to visit for families with younger ones. Our annual pass is up this summer, and although I probably won't renew it, we definitely used it well in the last year when we needed somewhere fun to go that was indoors (thanks to that extra long winter).
They're staring at this disco-ball kind of thing on the ceiling of the sun dome.
This a robot that you can control and make talk in small phrases. He talks super loud and usually scares the girls. He happened to be quiet and still when we walked by with no one playing with him, but he had a red face which made us think he wasn't in a good mood. We left him alone ;)
Wren walked on the "ice" after all the big kids finally scrammed.
And the last thing we do before we leave TWOS is put some change in this thing...whatever it's called. Travis thought it was pretty sweet.
All of those adventures bring us to today, the super crazy hot day!
At these temperatures, Wren's face is as red as a tomato. We woke up and went to the park to meet some friends in the morning, and then in the afternoon hung out outside. Ellie chilled in the play pen.
My little sweetie-grown up kid.
My other sweetie-grown up kid learning to drive. Sigh.
There you have it. I hope I'll post more regularly, but I can't promise anything if the nice weather keeps up!

What cuties, these two. Looks like you guys have been enjoying your reprieve from the snow! Woo hoo!
