Kenton's Latest Project: Stenger Dining Room Table with Benches

Kenton has been working super hard the last few months on a project that has been a large undertaking to say the least.

This is the Stenger dining room table (made for Kayley and Geoff Stenger family of course) with two benches for seating.
Kenton and I delivered it all to them this past weekend in Calgary and even got a chance to hang out at actually eat a dinner at this table!

The entire project took about 135 hours in total for him to build from scratch. Kenton designed everything for the Stenger's, working with them to figure out exactly what they wanted things to look like while still maintaining a vision for the project from Kenton's unique point of view and skill.

He worked with them using photos they found of other tables they liked, but also considering their space in the home and what would work best. There were many phone calls and emails back and forth to make sure they were a part of the process and  that they knew what they could expect to see on the finished product.

Everyone agreed on walnut as the wood of choice. Everything you see is solid wood, you will not find an inch of veneer on this piece!

Can I just add that it's fairly difficult to get a great photo of his work? You really have to see it in person to do it justice, but I'm sure you will see the beautiful craftsmanship and design just from looking at these few photos. The colour of the wood is most true in the first few photos of the table outside in our yard. It tends to look a little yellow in the light indoors.

The grain of the pieces are completely stunning. I think we all sat there and just ran our hands across the surface of the table for a solid 10 minutes, just feeling the smoothness of the wood!

As you can imagine, I am insanely proud of Kenton. This was a huge project that he worked so many weekends and evenings on on top of his full time job and around my work hours. I am amazed that he was able to work so well with Kayley and Geoff in figuring out what they wanted while keeping his style in it the whole way. He made a perfect piece custom for them and their home.

We are both so unbelievably grateful that they asked Kenton for this project. It has been an amazing opportunity to allow him to expand his skills and build something truly beautiful for someone's home.

You can check out his Facebook business page here and follow him as he does future projects and posts on their progress! You can also message him there to contact him if you are looking for a custom piece of your own or just to inquire.
Thanks for looking!
