The girlies...

Here are a few photos from the past few days...

Wren has been very loving and interested in everything Ellie. On occasion, she likes to do and be just like her, as you can see...

The change from one to two has gone really well so far, and it's been the best having Kenton at home this week as we all settle in. Ellie has made Wren look like a big girl more than ever these days. She hasn't been jealous, but can get irritated when we can't help her with something right away when she asks.
We must be somewhat used to a lack of sleep now after having Wren because we are handling it a lot better (for the most part) this time around. I've even gone to a breastfeeding clinic to work on feeding Ellie much sooner than I did with Wren which has helped enormously. I had so much trouble breastfeeding Wren that I eventually gave up, but this time I knew I needed help right away which has already paid off. I would recommend to anyone expecting to look into where they can get help with this before they even have their baby, as I found out that your hospital may not offer immediate support in this area...ahem. I'm not (that) bitter...but feel that I have a few suggestions to improve their care!

Kenton reads stories to the girls in Ellie's crib here. Wren's new favourite is one that friends of ours gave her as a gift called Leonardo the Terrible Monster, and we love reading it because it is hilarious. The author is the same one who wrote Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus. The new book also looks good on the shelf!

Ellie had her first bath yesterday. As you can see, Wren was very interested. As most newborn bathtimes go, Ellie hated it but it was short and sweet...literally, especially with the Burts Bees wash. Her fuzzy hair is so cute like a baby chick's after a wash. And it looks like we have another sweet red head in the family!

Wren has a new "thing" these days. It's hats. Wearing hats all the time, dancing to music, and trying to make everyone else wear one too. I'll be very honest, it's driving us crazy, especially when she gets very upset if you don't want to wear one. But at Ellie doesn't have a choice...

Since Ellie came almost 3 weeks earlier than expected, I was glad I was already prepared by having her room ready, clothes organized and her baby blanket sewn! However, we didn't really have a good supply of newborn diapers (we will use the cloth ones once she grows more), food prepared and frozen, or my bag packed for the hospital.
In a future post I will share about Ellie's birth if you are interested :)
Here is the best link to one of my favourite blogs with a helpful checklist of essentials when having a baby. I'm still reading through it now to see what else might be helpful this time around!

More to come...!
